Wow, boys are dumb, you really do need a helmet. Put it this way, don't wear a helmet, get the ticket, just don't bitch when you have to pay for your stupidity.ToddW wrote:I'm not about to not wear a helment all the time but am curious what the law is.

Despite the norm I also do not like the helmet. I wear it, gloves, jeans, and steel toed boots when I ride at home in Ohio or Kentucky. But when I am cruising the scenery out west somewhere I do not wear it. I guess when it comes down to the law, I will have to oblige the rules and wear it. Unfortunately it takes away from the scenery and it makes my hair all messy but I might just have to change my mind.
Take Care

You talkin to me? No not me. I don't have to land on my head to know I don't want to. And don't get me wrong, I am not a safety freak. I only wear a 3/4 helmet and work boots for safety equipment. My wife and I were riding a nice wide easy safe forest road on our last ride. Just as we were approaching a turn a motorcycle comes around the corner pretty fast and mostly on our side of the road. He starts waving because his buddy is not far behind him and it was going to be close with my wife at the curve. You don't have to be doing something wild to have an accident happen. It's just that there is no "restart" or do overs when it comes to massive head injury.ToddW wrote: you seem accident prone

I fear more for myself due to other idiots ON the road and OFF. Morons flying by and not looking scare me more than I could ever "oh shit!" myself
I'm really a big safety freak but the ride from Ellis Creek to the Slabs as an example I have no problem not wearing a helmet.. go slow, go easy and it's not a hard ride I enjoy smelling fresh air not hair!

I'm in search for a smaller less obtrusive helmet.
When is this rubicon trail patrol? I think I may go riding up there again this weekend.

Don't worry Crash Dawling....I fully admit being a dumb boy. But I wear a full face helmet...even rock crawling.
A) I've seen too many happen doing nothing, going over seemingly nothing
B) It happens in a FLASH
C) I LOVE....my teeth!
D) I solved the hair issue...first by washing it and my helmet....then the final solution...Shaved it. Would never go back now!
