I have some paddles for my atv. After running those for a while then going back to the bighorns in the sand I reliezed how good they were. The bighorns float over the sand. The 26" paddles i have didnt give the atv enough to float. I dont think the paddles do well with an automatic transmission because you don't spin the tires unlilke the sport quads.

Well I have been to the sand alot, and have many diffrent sand toys.
I have big horns on the rzr, aired down they do pretty good around 1-2psi
When I can't make it up say the front of sand mtn, I would throw the paddles on and go up no problem.
It all depends on what the sand it like. And weight makes a huge diffrence in sand. My friend put a 800 rzr s engine in his 700 ranger and still could not make it up the front with my paddles.

Your right. When a polaris sportsman that weighs around 800lbs its a differnt ball game. When I had my bighorns on I made it up memorial hill. The paddle's that I have would have never done that.ontherks wrote:Well I have been to the sand alot, and have many diffrent sand toys.

You really don't want my opinion of the Bighorns. I will say they have excellent longevity and the traction is great across a broad scale of terrain. Riding on a lot of old strip mines, however, they tend to pick up big pieces of slate rock which has really sharp edges. Had one tire vulcanized and just bent the rear rim due to the same reason. Luckily,it was the same tire/rim and the rim is an ITP.

I ordered the Bighorns from RMATV yesterday, should have them on Thursday. I ended up going with the original style as they were out of the 2.0's and I'm impatient. I hope to go up to Cisco this weekend to try them badboys out. Does anybody know how much snow is left on the trails/roads around there still? I'm trying to figure out if it would be worth going up there or not.

Cisco is closed to wheeled vechiles right now. You will have to park at eagle lakes. Im not sure what the snow pack is right now. I know Monday they got 1-2 feet of new snow. I know at Meadow lake still has 10 feet of snow. You might be better off going somewhere else.nocoad wrote:I ordered the Bighorns from RMATV yesterday, should have them on Thursday. FYI,
Sportsman 850 XP
XP EPS: 783 lb. (355 kg.) / XP: 774 lb. (351 kg.)
Off topic: The XP with power steering has a smaller gas tank than without EPS!
