Auburn & Roseville Yamaha Dealers?
It looks like Sierra Yamaha up in Chilcoot may have gone out of business.
Does anyone have any experience or opinions as to OTD Cyclesports in Auburn, or Roseville Yamaha? I need to get a bunch of routine maintenance done on my Grizzlies and am hoping for a place with good mechanics who do good work.

I like OTD - though I don't have much experience with them beyond the first service on my 700. Roseville Yamaha has been fine so far, but for sales they are way pricier, and for service they are somewhat pricier.
Bummer about the Chilcoot guy. Nothing in Reno or Carson City?

If you don't mind a little drive, I use a shop in Placerville that is top notch! Not brand specific - and fixes a wide variety of stuff (power tools, moto-x, atv's, etc...)

Yes, Reno has Michael's Powersports. I probably should have asked for opinions on their service quality as well. We bought our original ATVs there and had a bad experience with their sales department (never got the "free" winch they promised, etc.). They've been on my never-patronize-again list ever since, but that was a long time ago and their service department could be good.hemingray wrote:I like OTD - though I don't have much experience with them beyond the first service on my 700. If you had to choose between Roseville and Auburn based solely on service quality, which would you go with? Paying less is nice and the shorter drive to Auburn is nice, but breaking down in the boonies because someone forgot to tighten a bolt (or whatever) is unacceptable.
Thanks, that sounds like another option, what is the name of the shop? The Modfather wrote:If you don't mind a little drive, I use a shop in Placerville that is top notch! Not brand specific - and fixes a wide variety of stuff (power tools, moto-x, atv's, etc...)

Well, I plan to continue to go to OTD at this point because I liked their sales dept and the service is reasonable, and my 700 is still holding together.

He doesn't have a website, but the name of the shop is Performance Cycle. I'm real happy w/ them.GrizzlyGuy wrote:Thanks, that sounds like another option, what is the name of the shop? The Modfather wrote:If you don't mind a little drive, I use a shop in Placerville that is top notch! Re: Auburn & Roseville Yamaha Dealers?
Thanks guys! I googled around and found that Roseville Yamaha had good reviews and they will have all the Yamaha parts in stock. Michael's in Reno is still getting horrible reviews so apparently nothing has changed since I dealt with them many moons ago. It looks like OTD is now mainly a Suzuki dealer and the reviews I found were only fair, and I can't bring myself to drive all the way around to Placerville for routine maintenance (but a pro like that may be the way to go for an actual problem).
I called Roseville and the service manager seemed pretty friendly and knowledgeable. I'm hauling the Grizzlies down there on Wednesday morning and he thought they might even have them done by the weekend. Hopefully this will be a good experience. Or if it isn't, I at least hope I'm not out in bum fart Egypt when I find out. [-o<

Re: Auburn & Roseville Yamaha Dealers?
The other two Grizzlies went to Roseville - no issues. They repaired the 660 after my tree encounter - no complaints. Also, most of my service visits there have been drop in the morning, pick up in the evening. Must be your short notice if you mean ready by THIS weekend.

Chris is the main mechanic there....He knows Polaris really well...but they work on many brands there. And of course his significant other is Rachael...mention ATVOBSESSION and you get a 15% discount on all parts.
