That's funny you mentioned that - I was looking at some pix yesterday that I took up there a few years ago at the dam and decided I want to go try that road sometime soon. I can't next weekend though... :-(

Yep, did it about 5 years or so ago in the Jeep. It was pretty tough for a not far from stock CJ. I remember I spun the tires a lot trying to get back up from the lake.

I think it would be way fun on a quad.

If the lake is low enough, once you get to the bottom of the trail there will be acres of lake bottom exposed to go play around on.

Its out past french meadows. Most likely 2 1/2 hours or more from sacramento.

Head towards foresthill then take misqeito ridge road toward french meadows.

As long as you two don't have a spelling contest while you're up there, it should be a great time!!!

LMFAO!!!!

And in the "truth in advertising" department - that track is only a few miles long, and that's about it for riding around there, if I recall. It's mostly forest roads all around - and many paved. It's just a long dang drive, though very scenic (Mosquito Ridge Rd. is very twisty windy for many miles if you go up that way from Auburn/Foresthill)

The trail follows the left side of the reservoir in this view.

My spelling has been going down hill since college. It doesnt help that I am cruising this site on my blackberry most of the time.
