Does anyone know how to get to Bassetts from Bowman Road area? I thought i saw a post about a trail from Weaver Lake.
A KMZ file would be great.

Re: Bassetts from Bowman Road Area
I was creating the route in Google Earth and had to drop down by Meadow Lake the up and cross Henness Pass Road. Then to 88 to 12 then 54. 54 is mostly paved which is no fun. So need to talk to a guy that says he has been there, but I think he may have been in a Jeep.

Re: Bassetts from Bowman Road Area
You have the route correct as far as I recall. Weaver Lake doesn't do anything for this - from there you can run down to the 41 road (street legal only) which wraps around Pinoli Peak (a great ride IMHO) and brings you to Austin Meadow, or the 76 road to Meadow Lake Road etc. You can get to Milton Reservoir, but you can't get from Henness Pass up to the 1001 Ridge (54 road) in that area that I know of. You still have to go to Meadow to stay mostly legal and stay off the pavement around Jackson Meadows Reservoir.Rubicon_Rider wrote:I was creating the route in Google Earth and had to drop down by Meadow Lake the up and cross Henness Pass Road. Then to 88 to 12 then 54. 54 is mostly paved which is no fun. Also, unless things have changed out there (since 2007 which I rode it), the paving on the 54 road starts at 39°35'50.73"N 120°35'32.08"W so it's not too far from Bassetts.
Hope this helps.
Wherever I go, there I am
