Re: Ridin' with the Sasquatch
Sorry Fitz! I've been slacking on keeping up with the forum...
I go every year over Memorial weekend rain or shine, this year was 14 in a row without missing a trip!
This year we had a small turnout with only 4 atv's in our camp... it was still a great trip though
Arrived Thurs. late afternoon and stayed through Tuesday this year. Weather was just about as good as it gets with temps in the 70's right up until Monday night when a few big rain clouds decided to join our camp Once again we had 3000+ head of sheep come through Sunday morning as well as a horse endurance race with around 100 riders... I have witnessed both of these strange phenomenon's in recent past trips, so I decided to sleep in this year and failed to get any pix.
Here are a bunch of random photo's from this year's trip ~ hope you enjoy.
Just arriving in camp... ahh, the smell of fresh sage
Lot's of high-mountain wild flowers all around the canyon this year
Don't have to go far to find nice scenic view's... they are all around!
The elusive "Sasquatch" caught on film!
Gold-Rush era chunk of pipe tapped into a fresh-water spring, surrounded by lush green grass... in the middle of the high-mountain desert
Awesome arch rock formation
Found a geo cache box stashed at the base of the arch rock! I added a 240gr. .45ACP hollow point which will probably be worth like $5 in a year or two
More cool wild flowers
Antique gas can found in a difficult to reach spot, amazingly enough it had no bullet holes in it
My uncle Chuck's new pup Lady, already trained to ride bitch on the rear rack
Is it Tuesday already? All packed up and ready to head back to reality...
