Sounds like Fry's, I hate going in there. Their ads always look good, but when you get there they don't have stuff in stock, or what they have is return or refurbish stock. And service, well that really doesn't exist. I've looked for the XL online and can't find anyone carrying it, even on eBay, nothing. Lot's of other Explorists, but no one seems to have the XL.Ken wrote:I like the goodies in Frys....but getting help is an exercise in futility. I stood there with no intent to buy, holding it...check it out...trying to turn it on...nothing. I was there for a good 5 minutes....nobody cared.
I'd go there to check it out....then try to find it online....There's so many variations of this model....I would DEFINITELY pick carefully
GPS what to buy???

I tried their web page, not much on GPS, and no sign of the Explorist XL. I'm going to drive over tomorrow morning and take a look. I found a place online that is taking "Pre-orders" on the XL at $350. I was able to get the GPS, Topo software, and mount, delivered for $450. Now it's just wait and wonder when it will be delivered. They said available late October on the order, so it shouldn't be too long.
