Torn boot????
I see a bunch of grease on the left rear outer boot on my wifes sportsman (05) 700 just wondering how hard these are to change??? do I need any special tools??

They're a mild PITA, messy.
If it's the outer boot, and you're lucky, you'll be able to just pull the tire, axle nut and lower ball joint to get to it. A yank on the end of the shaft will make it come apart at the CV. Those clamps are a bit of a bitch, but careful work with needle nose pliers will get them off and you'll be able to reuse them. (they make a tool for them too)
When putting it back together, line up the splines on the CV and smack the end with a soft faced hammer (dead blow is what I use) and it should pop back together.
If you need pages from the manual, post up and I'm sure myself or Mr. Bill has them available.
EDIT: sorry I jsut read it was the rear, forget what I said about the ball joint.
